Alexander Jones is a city boy with a best-selling first novel and a follow-up he cannot seem to finish. His best friend Luke thinks the answer is a survival boot camp in the wilderness, and he talks Alex into it. With a detailed itinerary in hand, Alex, Luke and Luke's childhood friend Penny commit ten days to getting Alex out of his urban habits and into the countryside.

The trip takes them to the mountains where Luke and Penny camped as kids. Getting there takes a long time, but Alex realizes almost at once that he is out of his element. By the end of the ten days, in a surprising twist of fate, he has also fallen in love with Penny Foster.

What remains unclear is whether Penny feels the same way, and how Luke will react when he finds out. This is a humorous love story that pairs an overdramatic city boy with an incomparable country girl.
