Forget the trappings of the big-time drug game. The hustler at the center of this story has no fortune, no luxury car, and no stash of bricks. Based on a real hustler, he comes up in the housing projects, where his family is the one thing he can count on.

As he is pushed from one neighborhood to another, he has to rebuild his standing from nothing while the people in charge work to shut him down. The author presents everyday life in these communities without polish, mixing hard moments with humor and sharp wit.
