9 Days

Agnes Sants-Mekler, a well-known astrologer from one of Maine's prominent families, has confessed to murder. Her gifted son Zar, who is still a pre-teen, insists she is lying and asks Dee Rommel to prove it within nine days. A powerful family with much to guard sits at the center of the case.

Dee Rommel is a former Portland police officer, not yet thirty, living with a permanent injury that changed her life. She was hurt while serving on the force. Her medical leave has ended, and she has chosen, over objections, to put off returning to the department and keep working with her godfather, private investigator Gordy Greer.

The police are satisfied with Agnes's confession, but Dee's sharp curiosity and sense of justice push her to look further. As she sorts through evidence, false leads, and lies, she realizes that trusting the wrong person has exposed a more cunning scheme, one that leads to a confrontation where her life is at risk. This is the second book in the award-winning Dee Rommel Mystery series.
