A Foreign Crown

Lady Aribella Bardsley has been left to hold her household together by herself after a string of hard blows, and the weight of it grows heavier each day. Then the Queen sends for her, offering a post as lady-in-waiting at the royal palace.

Prince Layton Wilhelm comes from a family that has kept out of the war for far too long. The youngest of the King of Oldenburg's eight sons, he is eager to earn his place and will not overlook the privateers pressing in from Napoleon's side. He travels to England with one aim: to ask the British navy for help. There he meets Lady Aribella, and he finds he cannot deny the pull between them.

Life inside the palace is full of intrigue and scheming, and both Layton and Aribella know a future together is out of reach. Torn between duty and love, will they gamble everything on their feelings?
