A Forest Calls

In this story, forests keep their own time. They dream and wake to rhythms that have nothing to do with ours. Raksha has just moved to Basavakere, a town on the edge of a forest that is stirring awake, and she soon finds a magnificent library, a new quest and a few peculiar maybe-friends. Savitha would rather study than go adventuring. Pol turns oddly secretive whenever the forest comes up.

The town has another newcomer, a mysterious visitor from the past who is sometimes a dog and sometimes a human. When he is kidnapped, the three children have to go after him. Along the way they face steel-limbed ukkukai, strange beasts from the ocean, vengeful monarchs and the Creepy Corps. They also have to deal with parents, board exams, the vast grasping forest, and a future that keeps getting closer.

A Forest Calls is a fantastical, magical adventure that mixes friendship, mystery and the pull of the wild.
