A sinful calling

Dillon Whitfield Black was kept out of the family for years as the hidden son of Reverend Curtis Black. Two years ago he returned, married Raven, and felt called to the ministry. He started a church in his living room, and it now draws more than a thousand worshippers, with new arrivals each week. Away from the congregation, though, Dillon has taken on his father's old appetites for money, influence and many women. His relatives have pardoned him but still hold him at arm's length.

His half-sister Alicia has left their father's church to worship with Dillon. Her family accepted her marriage to Levi Cunningham, a former drug dealer she once had an affair with, yet they have never fully embraced him. Alicia eventually comes to see that they never will, and she gradually pulls away from them.

As Raven pushes for a more powerful place in the church, and Alicia keeps a secret with serious consequences, the whole family is pulled into the fallout in ways nobody expects.
