About this book
This is the second volume in a three-volume set by Otto Laske on dialectical approaches to solving problems at the systems level. The method applies to both social and natural science.
For social science, the approach offers fresh ways of thinking about how organizations are structured, how strategies are formed, and how work is designed. For natural science, it provides a way of conceptualizing physical systems that are under strain from the climate crisis, a perspective that did not previously exist. Laske also draws conclusions about how generative AI can be advanced.
The book introduces new conceptual tools intended to affect the internal structure of an analyst's mental processing as it happens. Where the first volume sets out the theoretical foundations of dialectical systems analysis, this volume focuses on the nature of work and maps the structure of complex thinking through the thought forms it requires.
The third volume, a Manual of Dialectical Thought Forms, is meant to make the principles of the first two volumes easier to grasp. It is currently the only resource of its kind.
