Advising in language learning

This edited collection gathers accounts of advising practice and research drawn from many countries, covering a field that is growing quickly. Its central framework is the Dialogue, Tools and Context Model, which draws on constructivist and sociocultural theory. The model is introduced early and returns throughout the book, since each contribution examines one or more of its components.

The editors open by setting out the field's core aims and ways of understanding advising. The chapters then show how advisors in different parts of the world are supporting learners in new ways and studying their own work.
