Africa Risen

This collection brings together speculative fiction by African and Afro-diasporic writers. Its stories range widely. In one, a group of cabinet ministers consults a supercomputer that holds the minds of the nation's ancestors. In another, a child robot on a dying world discovers evidence of tentative new life. A third follows the descendant of a rain goddess who inherits her grandmother's power to alter her own appearance, a gift that may affect far more than one person.

The book carries on the legacy of Dark Matter, the influential and award-winning anthology series that shaped the field. Its aim is to showcase the range and reach of African and Afro-diasporic science fiction and fantasy, and to affirm that this writing has already arrived rather than being on its way.
