after apocalypse

Written by Dianne Foit, this poetry collection grew out of work begun in mid-2021. Its verses respond to a single year that held both heartbreak and the happiest stretch of the author's life, and they take on everything that year asked her to face.

The poems move across a wide emotional range. Some explore learning to love oneself, coming out more than once, and living with mental illness. Others turn to losing people, the highest moments of joy, and the mix of success and failure that follows.

Running through the book is a steady focus on progress and the choice to keep going, whatever happens along the way.
