About this book
After Armageddon is a collection of short stories by Brian L. Porter, an award-winning novelist and screenwriter. The stories range across crime, science fiction and the paranormal, and the large print edition uses a bigger typeface for easier reading.
The title story imagines the aftermath of a global nuclear holocaust and ends with a twist. The Voice of Anton Bouchard, which Thunderball Films plans to adapt as a motion picture, follows a serial killer known as the Butcher Beast who haunts the streets of Paris through one long, hot summer. In The Devil You Know, police captain Juan Morales recounts his part in a case of missing choirboys in Mexico, and a follow-up novel, Avenue of the Dead, is available for Kindle. In Red Sky in the Morning, a nuclear submarine surfaces after a long and gruelling patrol to find the sky red and every communication channel dead, leaving the crew apparently alone on the open ocean.
RIGS and Alien Abduction move into science fiction, while The Festival belongs to the paranormal. Many more stories fill the book, which also includes a guest contribution from horror author Carole Gill, whose short story Raised appears here.
