About this book
This Aliens novel by V. Castro, author of Queen of the Cicadas, explores the background of PFC Jenette Vasquez, a fan-favorite character from the film Aliens. It also tells the story of the children she was forced to leave behind. It is presented as a Latinx take on the franchise.
Before the doomed mission to Hadley's Hope on LV-426, Vasquez was already fighting to survive. She was born into an immigrant family with a long military tradition and looked to the stars, but life pulled her back to Earth, first into a street gang and then into prison. The Colonial Marines offered a way out, though it cost her her twin children.
Jenette's sister raised the twins, Leticia and Ramon, and each had to find a way to survive. Leticia followed her mother into the military, while Ramon climbed the corporate ranks of Weyland-Yutani. Their paths meet on an unnamed planet that some see as a potential utopia and others want to use for secret research. Whatever humans have planned for it, the Xenomorphs will turn it into a living hell.
