Almost Strangers

Told as a single short story, this piece follows a young woman from her adolescence into adulthood. Across those years she encounters romance and heartbreak, and the story keeps returning to how unpredictable love can be. It is set in the present day and stays light and funny, closer to a romantic comedy than a serious drama, even though it is written as literary fiction.

The author's style is inventive and quirky, with passages that lean toward prose poetry. Adult readers who enjoy carefully crafted short fiction with an unusual voice will likely find it appealing.
