Ancient Enforcer

Mikael was once a general, but thousands of years ago he lost his clan, his family, and his honor. Now he is an ancient dragon warrior who has woken in a world that has fallen into chaos, full of fire, blood, and destruction. He and his brothers are ordered to live with Avery, a human woman, and her younger brothers.

Avery flips houses for a living and knows heartbreak well. She has learned that the people closest to you can betray you fastest, so when she is asked to shelter a group of dragon shifters, she wants to refuse. Then she meets the ragtag males, who are struggling to adjust to the modern world, and against her better judgment she lets them stay. Mikael is gruff and clearly trouble for her heart, yet she finds herself falling for him a little more each day.

Mikael thinks Avery is nothing he should want, since she is too soft, too sweet, and too happy, but he cannot shake his growing obsession with her. Their situation changes when a threat from her past surfaces and endangers everything she has. With time running out to save her family, Mikael must risk it all and claim her before it is too late.

Ancient Enforcer is the third book in the Ancients Rising series, after Ancient Protector and Ancient Enemy and before Ancient Vendetta. It can be read as a stand-alone and ends with a happily ever after.
