Angel's Tip

Manhattan's nightclub underworld is the setting for this crime novel, which follows NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher. When a young college student is murdered, Ellie takes on the investigation, and the killer may be someone from the young, wealthy social set of New York.

The book is the work of Alafair Burke, a crime writer whose father, James Lee Burke, created the Cajun detective Dave Robicheaux. Her novel moves at a brisk pace and treats its characters as people as well as suspects.

Readers who enjoy the crime fiction of Lisa Gardner, Karin Slaughter, Harlan Coben, or Sue Grafton are the natural audience for this story.
