Antigone

A family has come apart under the strain of conflict, and the state that governs it has turned against them. Within this fractured household stand a brother who acts with courage, a son whose judgment goes badly wrong, and a sister whose loyalties pull her in opposite directions. Another sibling is forced into hiding.

Inua Ellams, a Nigerian-born poet and playwright, reimagines Sophocles' ancient Greek tragedy for the modern stage. He is also the author of Barber Shop Chronicles.

This edition was issued to coincide with the September 2022 production at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park.
