Antipodes

A worldwide outbreak has put the planet at grave risk, and Australian researchers respond by choosing a small group of exceptionally capable young people. Their task is to build a self-sufficient island settlement that welcomes people from every background and treats everyone fairly.

Cam Mackintosh arrives feeling isolated and far from home. Over time he learns to manage his nerves, settles into the community, and discovers a sense of purpose, a deep interest, and companions he values. Just as things seem to be coming together, his plans are abruptly taken away from him.

He is pushed into unfamiliar territory, where he meets other societies that resemble the one he left behind. He finds friends there and a place where he is accepted, but eventually he must make a choice that alters the course of his life.
