Argylle

A luxury train races toward Moscow, carrying a rendezvous that could shape the future. In the jungles of the Golden Triangle, a CIA aircraft has come down. Deep in the remote mountains of southwestern Poland lies a cache of Nazi loot, and a treasure known as the eighth wonder of the world has been missing for seven decades. Each thread traces back to a Russian tycoon who dreams of returning his country to greatness. His scheme sets off a chain of events that threatens to push the world into chaos.

Only Frances Coffey, a CIA spymaster whose reputation is the stuff of legend, stands a chance of stopping him. To do it, she needs an exceptional operative. That operative is Argylle, a troubled agent whose past is far from spotless, and who may have the abilities to confront one of the most powerful men alive. The catch is that he must first find a way to rescue himself.
