Bad Bishop

Lila's life changed on one night under a starless sky, when her innocence was violently taken. The result was a teenage pregnancy and a secret that the Camorra, her family's world, is determined to keep buried. Rather than protect her, her father decides to trade her away to the highest bidder. The winner is Tiernan Callaghan, a self-declared psychopath and the Irish mafia prince. He wants her for reasons that have nothing to do with her: an alliance, money, prestige and, above all, war. Lila sees that she is only a pawn in his game. He sits, figuratively, on a throne built from the skulls of his enemies, and he assumes she is weak. Lila intends to prove him wrong. In this chess game, she believes the underdog can win, because a bad bishop is the piece that protects the good pawns.
