Batman: Damned

The Joker is dead, and Gotham's greatest detective cannot say who killed him. Batman wakes with gaps in his memory and a growing fear that the answer to the case may be waiting in his own reflection. Did he finally break his one rule, or did something darker in the city do it for him?

To find out, Batman accepts help from John Constantine, the occult trickster from the DC universe. Constantine enjoys a puzzle, but he enjoys toying with the people around him even more, so every lead he offers comes with a question about whether it can be trusted. Together the two work their way through the seedier corners of Gotham, where the line between the real and the supernatural keeps slipping.

The result is a moody supernatural horror tale that treats Batman's investigation as a test of his own mind. Brian Azzarello, known for 100 Bullets and Dark Knight III: The Master Race, writes the story, and Lee Bermejo, who drew Joker and worked on Hellblazer, provides the art.

This volume collects the three issues of the Batman: Damned miniseries.
