Beating Heart

Beating Heart is a small-town romance set in Magnolia Falls, told from the point of view of a single father. Since his son was born, he has felt that his life finally has a purpose, and he is content with it. Every day his heart beats for his kid. Then Emerson Chadwick arrives. She is the town's new paediatrician, and he finds her gorgeous, brilliant and complicated. Complications are the last thing he wants. Worse, she moves into the house next door, so he keeps running into her wherever he turns, and staying away proves impossible. The difficulty is that Emerson is not planning to stay in town. Even so, his heart has started beating for her in a way he never expected. Falling for the girl next door seems like a terrible idea, yet loving her turns out to be as natural as breathing.
