Beleth Station
About This Book
Beleth Station, a mountain town in Pennsylvania more than two hours' drive from any city, was once a prosperous place. Its decline began when the Medallion Paper Mill shut down. Many of the people who remain are descendants of mill workers, and they get by in jobs that are far from respectable. Rumors have long circulated about cancer clusters and benzene in the water supply, but Medallion filed for bankruptcy before any investigation could reach a conclusion. The abandoned mill has become a gathering spot for restless teenagers after dark, some there to frighten their friends and others seeking privacy. Drifters also settle in the town, some looking to drink undisturbed and others with predatory aims. Into this place come Krista Mabry and Nick Rawlison, a young couple recently in love, who find themselves in a rundown town where terror is waiting. The book combines two novellas by Samantha Kolesnik and Bryan Smith, set in the same town within a shared fictional universe. Kolesnik's A Night to Remember and Smith's The Gauntlet each show a different side of the same corrupt, depraved world, and the story of Nick and Krista leads readers into the center of Beleth Station.
