Better Run

Told in three voices, the story begins with Jayden, who has grown fixated on a woman he took, a fixation he resents even as he cannot bring himself to release her. His original reason for taking her no longer matters much to him, and he is now sure he will not let her go.

Cole, his companion, views the captive as a lovely but lethal prize the two of them brought home, and he has decided to hold onto her.

Mary Jo is the captive. Two men who are both unsettling and predatory have abducted her, and she does not know the rules of the sick game they have forced her into. She does know that running is forbidden, and since she has never been good at obeying rules, that is one she may find hard to follow. The men toy with her body and mind, pushing her to take part and to find pleasure in it. As she learns the real motive behind her abduction, the danger escalates, and she begins to see that protecting both her body and her heart means escaping.
