Bewicched

Arwyn Cassandra Corey is a sea wicche, a witch who makes her home by the ocean. She is also a shopkeeper with a stock of art, muffins, tea, and potions, and she offers palm readings and tarot sessions by arrangement. Her opening hours are loose, since they depend on whether she has managed to get out of bed. She wears gloves because her clairvoyance tends to reveal more than she wants to know about the people around her.

Arwyn is turning an abandoned cannery into a gallery and tea room, a job that is taking far longer than she expected. Progress has picked up since a new construction worker joined the crew. He is a bearded, gruff werewolf who does excellent work and whom Arwyn finds hard to ignore, though she is trying. She cannot work out why such an easygoing man has the local Alpha and his pack ready to hunt him down, but she knows everyone has secrets.

Her mother and grandmother want her to take her place on the Corey Council, a three-member governing body for an ancient magical family with a long history of black magic. Members of the family have killed for seats on the council, and one unhinged sorceress aunt is a notable example. Arwyn wants nothing to do with that power or the politics that come with it. She would rather focus on her art and on helping those who have little, guided by a line from a song she admits will be stuck in your head.
