Beyond Biden

Newt Gingrich contends that a network of opposing movements has grown so large, so well funded, and so determined to gain power that it now threatens the country itself. He describes the conflict as a struggle between those who regard the United States as a uniquely exceptional nation and those who reject that view, a clash he says is nearing its most heated point. In his framing, these opponents must be studied closely and understood fully, because the nation's survival depends on confronting what he calls an imminent civil war.

Gingrich gathers the many threads of this movement, which he argues seeks to dismantle long-standing American values and replace them with a different order. That new order, he claims, would be imposed through the combined force of government authority and social pressure to conform.
