About this book
Working from Miami, landscape architect Raymond Jungles has spent more than three decades designing outdoor spaces that respond to the natural systems around them. His work seeks to restore balance and harmony at a small scale, and his gardens are meant to feel enduring and beautiful, with green spaces that draw people in and ease the mind. Inventive as his designs are, they also reflect a steady commitment to caring for the land.
This monograph is the third book devoted to his work. It presents 25 projects, some completed and others still in progress. The selection includes large landscapes around upscale residential developments as well as lush private gardens.
Among the highlighted commissions is the restoration of an interior garden by Dan Kiley at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice in New York. The book also covers a New York Botanical Garden landscape that echoes the work of Brazilian designer Roberto Burle Marx, and the Florida Garden at the Naples Botanical Garden.
