Big Match Manager

Big Match Manager is an interactive soccer game book in which young readers play out matches using a simple, addictive format. The reader takes charge of Hardwick City, whose goal is to win the European Cup, and how well the team does depends on the reader's skill at playing the matches.

There is also a mystery running through the book. Four of the club's players have tested positive for a banned substance, and all of them insist they are innocent. If they are telling the truth, someone has set them up, and the reader has to work out who has it in for Hardwick City and how far that person will go to wreck the club's reputation and its chances in the cup.

Readers need both match-playing ability and sharp detective thinking to win the cup, expose the real culprits and save the club. It is aimed at young soccer fans who also enjoy a fast-moving puzzle.
