Black River

A killer has been stalking the privileged districts along Sydney's Parramatta River, and the city's wealthiest residents are growing uneasy. The case takes a grim turn in the middle of a suffocating summer, when the body of a chaplain's daughter is discovered wrapped in black plastic on the empty grounds of a prestigious boarding school. Detective Sergeant Rose Riley suspects the victim may belong to the man known as the Blue Moon Killer, but her instincts tell her that something more calculating may be going on.

Determined to stop the Blue Moon Killer before he strikes again, Riley reluctantly joins forces with Adam Bowman, a journalist whose knowledge of the school's history is both useful and disturbing. Her inquiry draws her into the hidden private lives of Sydney's leading figures, while Bowman revisits the painful memories of his own childhood in search of answers.

When their investigations converge, Riley must rely on every ounce of her cleverness to prevent another death. Digging into Bowman's past could be the breakthrough that cracks the case, but it could also be the thing that ends Riley's career, because with each new clue she is being drawn into the sights of a killer.
