Black Sun

Black Sun is a poetry collection built on the abecedarius, a form in which the opening letter of each word, strophe or line moves through the alphabet in sequence. The poems are shaped by that constraint, with each line or section beginning in turn from A to Z.

The author's process starts with the full alphabet. For each letter he chooses a word, working freely so that intuition and the unconscious mind can guide the choices. The resulting pieces may read as verse or as prose, and the links that form between the words often surprise, opening unexpected connections for the reader to follow.
