About this book
A day at the coast becomes the end of the world. This science fiction and horror blend is pitched as a cross between Stephen King's Cujo and the film A Quiet Place, and its focus stays on the two people caught in the middle of the disaster.
Mike and Beth are complete strangers until a meteor shower lights up the sky the night they meet. They live next door to each other by chance, and a bottle of champagne opens the door to a shared hunger for company that leads to a reckless, drunken night together. Afterward, they find that the spectacle overhead has torn a path of destruction across the region, and that it was only a small part of something far larger and more frightening.
A lost car key strands them on a deserted stretch of the Oregon shoreline. Inhuman screams rise from the dunes, the tide creeps toward their car, and unspeakable horrors close in from every side. The two self-destructive characters have to keep themselves alive through an apocalyptic catastrophe.
