About this book
Amy Webber, director of the Taylorsford Public Library in the Blue Ridge, has a wedding to plan, but her best friend's trouble comes first. Sunny Fields is running for mayor, and her campaign is derailed when human remains turn up in the fields of her grandparents' organic farm. In the 1960s the farm housed a commune, and the aging former hippies who lived there now face criminal charges.
A forensic examination shows the death was no accident and not natural causes. With Sunny's political hopes slipping away, Amy puts off shopping for her wedding dress and turns her research skills to clearing the family's name. The trouble is that any of the now-elderly commune members could have been responsible, and the peace-and-love image of the era starts to look like a cover for darker dealings.
Then the former flower children begin dying one after another. Amy works the case with Richard, her Aunt Lydia and Hugh Chen, chasing every lead they can find. If they cannot identify the killer soon, the next bouquet may be meant for Amy's own grave.
Bound for Murder is part of Victoria Gilbert's Blue Ridge Library Mystery series.
