Breathless

Journalist Cecily Wong heads to Manaslu, the eighth-tallest mountain on Earth, to interview Charles McVeigh, a famous mountaineer who is nearing the end of a string of record-setting summits. Cecily is there to cover the final stretch. She has wagered a great deal on the assignment, including her relationship, her savings, and the fragile peace she has made with her past failures on the slopes. For her, this story could be the break that finally puts her life on a better path.

The expedition soon starts to come apart. When one climber dies in an incident the rest of the team writes off as bad luck, Cecily begins to suspect that the group is in danger. A second death follows, and by then there is no turning back. Trapped in one of the most isolated places on the planet, she must fight the brutal conditions and an unseen killer who is hunting the climbers one at a time.
