Brooklyn Summer

Ashleigh McAllister is having a rough stretch. Her former partner left her for a man, and now she keeps running into the pair of them around a Brooklyn neighborhood that seems to have shrunk overnight. The one bright spot is the weather, since the summer forecast promises nothing but sunshine, and Ashleigh hopes the season will bring some excitement into her life.

Kellan Dwyer arrives just as things start to warm up. Newly out of the army, he is house-sitting in the city while he waits to return to Colorado and a future that has already been mapped out for him. For now, his only plan is to have a good time. Ashleigh and Kellan agree that a friends-with-benefits arrangement suits them, but both are certain that anything deeper would be a mistake.

Against the backdrop of the New York City skyline, the summer grows steamy quickly. The two must guard their emotions so that neither gets hurt. The story asks whether a season of passion can grow into a lifelong love.
