Catechismus Ecclesiae Catholicae

Written as a summary of Catholic doctrine for teaching and reference, this catechism is built on Scripture, the Mass and the seven sacraments, Church tradition and magisterial teaching, and the examples of the saints. It is arranged in four parts: the profession of faith, the celebration of the Christian mystery, life in Christ, and Christian prayer. It was issued in Latin as the official text, with the vernacular editions following it.

The work serves catechists, priests, students and lay Catholics who want a systematic account of what the Church teaches and why, presented in question-and-answer form and tied to the sources that ground each belief.
