CenterStage

Michael Kay, the longtime television voice of the New York Yankees, also hosts ESPN Radio's "The Michael Kay Show." For eighteen years he hosted CenterStage on the YES Network, an Emmy-winning program. This collection gathers his most memorable conversations from that run with figures in sports and entertainment. Many of the selected interviews are among the most revealing and surprising, and several include behind-the-scenes moments that never aired.

Kay's first CenterStage guest, in 2001, was quarterback Steve Young, and the show's creators sensed early on that the format had real potential. Over the years Kay has become known for drawing candid, personal insight out of celebrities and from people who usually keep their private lives out of view.

The interview subjects include Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, Serena Williams, Adam Sandler, Bon Jovi, and Larry David, along with Red Auerbach, Charles Barkley, Bobby Orr, Sly Stallone, Lorne Michaels, Paul Simon, John McEnroe, Rob Reiner, Seth Meyers, Alan Alda, David Halberstam, Bob Costas, Billy Crystal, Lindsey Vonn, Chris Evert, and Quentin Tarantino.

The book is aimed at readers who follow both pop culture and sports.
