Centrism

Centrism is a short guide to one of the most misunderstood ideas in modern politics. It belongs to a series from the creators of the Origin Story podcast, which looks at the true meanings and surprising histories behind some of the political terms people use and misuse most.

The series is built on the idea that the words we use shape the world we live in, so getting them wrong matters. Each book asks where a term came from, who coined it and why, how its meaning has changed over time, and what it means to people today. The aim is to cut through confusion and conspiracy and make conversations about politics clearer.

Ian Dunt's volume follows the history of centrism from its origins to the contested ground it occupies now.
