Chance Inheritance

Lanie, Jodi, and Becky Cornell have inherited a house and a family bait shop from their feisty grandmother, Granny Lizzie. The three cousins move to Catfish, Texas, where they spent summers as children on the banks of the Red River, hoping to reinvent their lives there.

Life in the old family home is far from those carefree memories. The women share Granny Lizzie's cramped two-bedroom house and run the Catfish Fisherman's Hut through long, sweltering days, serving tourists who are demanding and often rude.

Among the locals, Chris Adams, a river guide, takes a keen interest in Becky. Meanwhile, Lizzie's death triggers a series of events that brings a new generation of Cornell women together.

The book also includes a bonus novella, The Third Wish, by Carolyn Brown.
