Chasing the Bird

This graphic novel follows jazz saxophonist Charlie "Bird" Parker during his stay in Los Angeles beginning in December 1945. Alongside trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, he carried the fast, complex style of bebop from the New York scene out to the West Coast for a two-month run at Billy Berg's club in Hollywood.
