Chasing the Sun

Each year, the Arctic tern makes a migration of up to 50,000 miles, following summer from one end of the planet to the other. Along the way, this small seabird moves between the two hemispheres and collects more sunlight than any other living thing.

Author and visual artist Timothy Musso follows one family of Arctic terns along their route. Carefully designed woodcut illustrations appear throughout, and the rhythmic verse invites young readers to travel alongside the birds as companions.
