Chicks Rock!

Nerdy Chick has been counting down the hours until her Rocket Club meeting. When she arrives, a sign declaring that no chicks are allowed stops her cold. First puzzled, then baffled, then furious, she decides the rule has to go. Her quest brings her into contact with other hens who are just as spirited and stubborn: Soccer Chick, Science Chick, Wordy Chick, and Yoga Chick. Refusing to accept a flat no, the group gathers and marches to the barn at the heart of town. When the answer is still no, they chart their own course, climbing skyward like a rocket.

This lively picture book is a bright, inclusive celebration of girls speaking up for themselves and working together to make their community better. Its tone is playful and upbeat throughout, and its cast of diverse chicks gives young readers many personalities to root for.
