Christodora

Milly and Jared live in the Christodora, a building in New York where they settle as a well-off young couple chasing creative careers. Across the hall, their neighbor Hector, a gay Puerto Rican man, was once a well-known figure in AIDS activism. Now he is isolated and struggling with addiction, and his path crosses theirs in unexpected ways.

The novel also follows Mateo, the couple's adopted son, as he comes of age in a city that promises both a chance to become himself and a way to disappear.
