About this book
Calvin Taylor, known to everyone as 'Choctaw,' thinks of himself as an untamed spirit, a man no plow could ever bend. He lives in the Arizona Territory of 1873, a rough frontier where a mob's verdict often served as the only court. Choctaw earns his living in many ways: he catches and gentles wild mustangs, scouts for the army against the Apaches, and rides as a cowboy after horse thieves. Each job adds to his name as a fast and lethal gunman.
His path turns difficult when he runs into a band of kidnappers who are pushed to desperation. Choctaw has to decide where he stands, which side of the law he serves, and where his real loyalties lie. The man leading the kidnappers was once his closest friend, and that friend may still be.
