Cinnamon Twisted

Emily Westhill runs the Deputy Donut Café and shares her days with a tabby cat. One late-spring afternoon, a customer slips the cat a toy donut, grabs a plate of cinnamon twists, and rushes out, leaving an earring behind. Worried about the woman, Emily sets out to return the earring, but when she finds her, it is too late to help. She has no pulse.

The investigation takes a turn when an ambitious detective discovers the earring at the scene, along with an unsealed envelope addressed to Emily. Inside are a cryptic letter and a faded photograph of a woman standing in front of Emily's house. The detective begins to see Emily as a prime suspect. Emily is determined to clear her name and learn why the customer went to the café and fled so suddenly.

When a donut-shaped murder weapon turns up in her own backyard, Emily has to trace the link between the victim and the unusual history of her property. All the while, she must unmask the real culprit, who is working to make her the next victim.
