Close Enough to Kill

A killer who appears as a secret admirer courts his targets with anonymous phone calls, love letters and gifts. He watches them from afar, and his feelings toward them are a mix of longing, desire and contempt, until he is near enough to strike. In Adams County, Alabama, a town where people believe they know one another, rookie sheriff Bernie Granger faces her first major investigation. The case is a serial predator who stalks, courts, abducts and murders his victims. She must also prove herself to her new boss, Jim Norton, a former Memphis police detective. The suspect seems to anticipate her every move, and his next act hits close to home. The hunt is on, and Bernie must decide whether she is closing in on him or getting dangerously near his trap.
