About this book
Coaching supervisors from many countries contribute to this edited volume, which looks at how culture and local context shape coaching supervision across the Americas. It covers current theory, research and practice in a field that is still growing. Francine Campone, Joel DiGirolamo, Damian Goldvarg and Lily Seto edited the collection.
The book has three parts. The first explores the cultures and values behind different approaches to coaching supervision in the region, including racial justice, work with Indigenous communities, and culturally sensitive supervision. The second shows how existing supervision models and methods have been adapted to suit Americas settings, and introduces an original model built on a regional perspective. The third looks at ways to raise awareness of coaching supervision in the Americas, with chapters on coach wellbeing and the developmental journey of the coach. Throughout, theory is paired with the experiences of practitioners.
The volume is aimed at coaching supervisors who work across borders and boundaries, as well as educators, trainers, mentors and coaches. It will also interest practitioners, graduate students in organizational development, and people who oversee internal coaching programs.
