Collected Stories

For Shashi Deshpande, writing stories is a way of exploring the world. This is the second volume of her collected short fiction, and it draws the reader into a world of recognisable characters and situations. The emotions in these stories are complex and, at the same time, cathartic.

Deshpande is a best-selling novelist as well as a short-story writer. The stories here are intensely felt and finely rendered, and they stay with the reader long after they are read.
