Combinatorics and Geometry

Mathematics now serves a wide range of fields, from biology and engineering to medicine, economics, business and the social sciences. This reference work sets out the practical side of mathematics for people who use it in their work but are not trained mathematicians. It aims to cover every branch that is in active use or is judged likely to become important, while leaving out areas that have no practical value.

The handbook was assembled with care to strike that balance, so that its coverage is neither incomplete nor padded with material that serves no purpose for applied users.
