Consider the Issues

The "Issues" Series is an exciting, proven approach to listening comprehension and discussion, based on authentic radio broadcasts from National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" and "Morning Edition." Students are presented with interesting and relevant content in unedited everyday speech including hesitations, redundancies, and various dialectical patterns. Compelling topics include genetic engineering, gang violence, and controversial advertising. Students gain a critical understanding of American values and culture as they fine-tune their listening skills.
