Cornered

Cornered brings together three romantic suspense stories by three authors, each following a woman in danger and the man who steps in to protect her. In In the Dark by Lynette Eason, accountant Steph Cross is clearing out the desk of a coworker who has died unexpectedly when she finds cryptic notes suggesting that her friend's car accident was no accident. Detective Tate Cooper is determined to help her solve the case before anyone else is hurt, but he also has to ask whether he can keep safe a woman who has so quickly won his heart. In Downfall by Lynn H. Blackburn, chef Cassie Quinn accepts an offer she cannot refuse: stepping in as chef at an exclusive mountain resort. When the kitchen is destroyed and it becomes clear she is in danger, she has to accept help from her ex-boyfriend, Detective Donovan Bledsoe, to find the culprit and stay safe. In Perilous Obsession by Natalie Walters, teacher Lahela Young becomes the target of someone with a twisted determination to right a wrong. She turns first to her good friend Briggs Turner, who has left his career as a police officer but has not lost his instinct to protect, least of all where Lahela is concerned.
