Dad's war

Howard Reid retraces the route his father took across Italy after escaping from a prison camp during the Second World War. The trip becomes a way to follow the man's wartime footsteps and to understand what he went through.

Alongside the journey, the book reflects on the bond between father and son and on the wounds that war leaves behind, both in the men who fight and in the families who wait for them.
